Communication systems are emerging rapidly with the revolutionary growth in terms of networking protocols, wired and wireless technologies, user applications and other IEEE standards. Numbers of industrial as well as academic organizations around the globe are bringing in light new innovations and ideas in the field of communication systems. These innovations and ideas require intense evaluation at initial phases of development with the use of real systems in place. Usually the real systems are expensive and not affordable for the evaluation. In this case, network simulators provide a complete cost-effective testbed for the simulation and evaluation of the underlined innovations and ideas. In past, numerous studies were conducted for the performance evaluation of network simulators based on CPU and memory utilization. However, performance evaluation based on other metrics such as congestion window, throughput, delay, packet delivery ratio and packet loss ratio was not conducted intensively. In this thesis, network simulators such as NS2, NS3 and OMNET++ will be evaluated and compared for wired and wireless networks based on congestion window, throughput, delay, packet delivery and packet loss ratio. In the theoretical part, information will be provided about the wired and wireless networks and mathematical interpretation of various components used for these networks. Furthermore, technical details about the network simulators will be presented including architectural design, programming languages and platform libraries. Advantages and disadvantages of these network simulators will also be highlighted. In the last part, the details about the experiments and analysis conducted for wired and wireless networks will be provided. At the end, findings will be concluded and future prospects of the study will be advised.fi=Opinnäytetyö kokotekstinä PDF-muodossa.|en=Thesis fulltext in PDF format.|sv=Lärdomsprov tillgängligt som fulltext i PDF-format

The relationship between strategic planning and organizational performance: examining the moderating effect of transformational leadership / Waleed Abdulkafi Ahmed

This study was to examine the relationship between strategic planning (consists of three dimensions strategic planning level, strategic planning implementation and strategic planning barriers) and organizational performance. It examined also the moderating effects of transformational leadership on the relationship between strategic planning (consists of three dimensions strategic planning level, strategic planning implementation and strategic planning barriers) and organizational performance in Yemen banks. The data was collected through self-administered questionnaires from 246 respondents who were the top and middle management staff of Yemen Banks with the percentage of 61.5%. This data was further analyzed using mainly the Structural Equation Modelling (SEM) to investigate causal and moderating relationships between latent variables utilizing the SmartPLS. The results revealed that all of the strategic planning dimensions were significantly and positively related to organizational performance

The basic effects and patterns that characterize the Keynesian model of business cycle have been modeled using the system of linear differential equations. The solutions of the system, which describes the interaction of two or three states are found, and stability of this system was investigated. The majority of economic processes proceed in time. Owing to this, corresponding mathematical models are basically dynamic and nonlinear. The similar phenomena were observed in 4 dimentional models for economy of two states. Thus the required combination of parameters has been found, and the hypothesis of chaos as a result of globalization has been proved to be true, even for the elementary models.Основные эффекты и закономерности, которые характеризуют кейнсианские модели делового цикла были смоделированы с помощью системы линейных дифференциальных уравнений. Aspects in Formulating Mathematical Model of Wind Turbine

    Get PDF
The present paper explores the mathematical molding of the wind turbine and its influence on the subsequent stages. Specifically, the paper investigate the modeling of gear train of the wind turbine and distinguishes the difference in the approaches usually used to establish the mathematical model which is later has a significant impact on the design, characteristic and performance of the modeled system. Mainly two commonly used approached for the gear train systems are analyzed and discussed. The main well know mechanisms are investigated in term of the most proposed assumptions to deal with the damping, shaft stiffness and inertia effect of the gear. This paper elucidates these concerns

The Design of Bunch Shaker and the Date Fruit Detachment Force

    Get PDF
In this work, the design and construction of a tractor-mounted shaker used for the removal of date fruits from the bunch is presented. The dynamic force developed by this shaker is calculated and the tensile force required to detach the date fruit at subsequent stages of fruit maturity is measured with the prospect of relating the two forces. Such a relation would facilitate the design of shaker stroke and frequency which would develop a dynamic force equivalent to the detachment force requirement for any type of date variety. The experimental results confirmed that the detachment force decreased significantly with the progress of fruit maturity. The average tensile detachment force at the final stage of fruit maturity was 6.8 N which is 20% of the average tensile detachment force at the first stage of fruit maturity (33.4 N). However, the dynamic force developed by the bunch shaker at different shaking frequencies, which ranged from 0.42 N to 2.68 N, is much lower than the tensile detachment force. This implies that dates removal from the bunch by a bunch shaker cannot be attributed to the development of a dynamic force which exceeds the tensile detachment force requirement. Consequently, the tensile fruit detachment force cannot be utilized as a criterion for the design of a date bunch shaker
